Telstra has revealed the addition of almost one million new mobile services in the six months to December 2011, but Sensis revenues plummeted 24 percent in 12 months.
iBreviary was recently released by Italian priest Father Paolo Padrini and developer Dimitri Giani. The iPhone/iPod touch application comes in Italian and English versions, with the texts in English, French, Spanish and Latin, and in the Ambrosian Rite.
It can display the Missal in addition to the principal Catholic prayers of the day.
"The application... has got the approval and the encouragement of the Vatican," said Fr Padrini.
A day's prayers and readings are downloaded all at once, so you could grab them via Wi-Fi at home in the morning and have then available for the rest of the day without needing to eat into your 3G data allowance.
If you find landscape format more comfortable than portrait, iBreviary honours the iPhone's orientation. It also allows the size of the text to be adjusted.
iBreviary is available from Apple's App Store for €0.79 ($US0.99/$A1.19). The revenue is being used to fund further development and to support the restoration of the Pineda Refuge in Fr Padrini's parish.
