OK, so we have already established that the iPhone of
tomorrow will work as a TV remote and an alarm clock, but what else?
According to de la Vega, by the time it wakes
you up in the morning it will have also have sent a message to your
coffee maker to start your coffee brewing. During which time, you can
turn your TV on and with a shake of the wrist read your news on the TV
rather than on the iPhone.
Of course, some might argue that if you have the TV on then you could
simply watch a live news broadcast, but let's not get into that. What
else happens in this iPhone vision of the future?
Well, the iPhone locks your doors as you leave the house and unlocks
the car as you approach it. It also acts as an ignition key for the
car, and reads the news out loud as your drive.
The clever talking iPhone continues to impress at the office as it
becomes some kind of Star Trek voice translator when you take a call
from a Japanese speaking contact.
All according to someone who doesn't actually work for Apple and, one has to assume, has very little real insight into the iPhone research and development process.
Is it just me, or would anyone else actually just like an iPhone which
can handle MMS, maybe do that cut and paste thing, even manage a little
video recording like most other smartphones? Oh, and do all of this
without
the battery going flat
after 10 minutes?
And did I mention fixing those
security holes just a little bit more quickly?
So come on then, your turn: what would you like to see fixed right now to make the iPhone a better device, and what would you want in your vision of the iPhone future?
