Fed up with room service that doesn't answer your calls, or a TV remote squeezing the last bit of juice from its batteries or how about trying to get some useful information from a snotty concierge? Fret no more, the iPhone Hotel has opened for guests...
The Apple iPhone has, there can be no doubt, become so much more than
just a mobile phone. But then I guess everyone always knew it would.
Who could have foreseen the
iPhone becoming such
an important player in the
US Presidential Election for the Barack Obama campaign team, for
example?
Forget the politics though, what I am interested in are really
practical uses for an iPhone which might actually change my life. And
now I think I just might have found one, in Malibu.
Well, at the Malibu Beach Inn to be
precise, the first hotel to provide an iPhone powered stay for every
guest.
Guests checking into the hotel are asked if they own an iPhone, and if
they do not they are loaned one (or at least an iTouch) for the
duration of their stay.
The reason? So the guest can make full use of the
Hotel Evolution application that the Malibu Beach Inn is
debuting.
This inspiring application pretty much takes care of everything the
discerning guest could want, apart from acting as a door key. Just
enter you room number and security code, and the iPhone becomes a
handheld guest information and services hub.
So what exactly does the iPhone Hotel offer courtesy of the Jesus Phone in your pocket? More details on page 2...
