One of the iPhone 3G's new features is the ability to download third
party applications from the iPhone Apps Store, which came online over
night.
Reports say there are 500 programs to choose from, with 25 per cent said by Steve Jobs to be free.
Below is the money shot! Apart from a slightly revamped iTunes icon, the icon design remains the same as on the original iPhone.
The "all metal buttons" were a feature that Jobs touted in his WWDC
presetation, instead of the plastic buttons on the original iPhone.
In practice they make zero difference to the operation but stand out nicely against the black backdrop.
The iPhone 3G ships with a pre-installed link to the iPhone Apps Store
on the home screen and you can alos see the Optus Zoo icon.
Also visible is the calculator icon, and turning the iPhone 3G
horizontally sees the regular calculator turn into a scientific model.
