Telstra has revealed the addition of almost one million new mobile services in the six months to December 2011, but Sensis revenues plummeted 24 percent in 12 months.
In its results for that year it quoted in IDC report which put its hosting revenue at $40.5 million and Kaz/Telstra at number two with $27.5 million. The combined revenue of the remainder of the top 10 players was $58.5 million.
However things may not be going so well for WebCentral post its acquistion by Melbourne IT, according to a research report from Lodge Partners issued earlier this month.
According to the report, by analyst Katie Belle, "Melbourne IT's shared hosting revenue and earnings...surprised us on the downside in 1HY07. We have therefore halved our revenue and earnings assumptions for shared hosting in FY07 to $12.4m revenue and $1.8m EBIT. In addition, we expect minimal earnings growth in shared hosting over the forecast period, as it becomes increasingly commoditised and price competitive."
Belle said that Melbourne IT was still struggling with the legacy billing system of WebCentral. "[Integrated billing] remains a key risk of the business. The integration of billing systems is complicated and time consuming. WebCentral's billing systems were inadequate and in 1HY07 Melbourne IT wrote off $400K in bad debts. We expect this will increase to ~$1m in FY07. Melbourne IT is planning to progressively roll over and shut down WebCentral's billing systems over the next 12 months and we view this as a risky process."
