CeBIT welcomes bloggers

IT Industry - Market

The organisers of CeBIT Australia have invited more than 250 local and international bloggers to attend the business technology exhibition, where there will be a BloggerZone space on the show floor.

CeBIT Australia will also host BloggerZone.com.au, an RSS aggregation platform that will aggregate feeds from participating blogs.

"The aggregation of CeBIT-related posts will link directly back to the contributing writer's blog, hopefully lifting their profile," said Jackie Taranto, managing director of Hannover Fairs Australia.

"We are excited that BloggerZone provides a real-world, working demonstration of both the power of the blogosphere, in carrying messages and thought leadership, as well as an example of business engagement with that community," she added.

A number of high-profile mainstream IT journalists unconnected with iTWire are complaining they haven't been invited to the event, even though in some cases they have received the media release announcing the blogging initiative.

CeBIT Australia will be held from 1-3 May 2007 at the Sydney Convention and Exhibition Centre, Darling Harbour. Over 700 exhibitors will be present.
