Powerlan becomes Clarity OSS, gives bullish outlook

Powerlan (formerly ASX: PWR) has changed its name to Clarity OSS Limited (ASX: CYO) - the company's only business following the sale of all other assets.

The decision was approved by shareholders at the company's AGM on 16 December, at which shareholders also approved the sale of Powerlan subsidiaries ConverterTechnology for $3.5m and IMX Software for $4.9m.

Clarity produces telecommunications operational support systems. The business was founded in 1994 and boasts 35 telecom customers worldwide that use the software to manage over 250 million subscribers. The company claims that its software "provides the lowest total cost of ownership using embedded best practices and process driven workflow to reduce the complexity, risk and cost of operations."

Despites its sales success Powerlan has struggled to achieve profitability for Clarity and to provide sufficient funding to grow the business.
