CA takeover sees Torokino ownership offshored

IT Industry - Listed Tech

CA Technologies has acquired Sydney-based communications service assurance management provider Torokina Networks.

Torokina Networks provides service assurance management solutions to 3G, 4G and Long Term Evolution (LTE) communications service providers (CSPs) around the world.

The company has been acquired by US-based CA Technologies, which will merge the technology with its existing service assurance management products. CA and Torokino have previously worked together.

"The challenge with a majority of performance and fault management tools is that they are limited in their out-of-the-box capability and manage only part of the total network,' said Dilshan Perera, principal systems architect at TelstraClear, New Zealand, a customer of Torokina.

"Making a performance and fault management solution work end-to-end, across both IP and non-IP networks, requires significant investment in both cost and timeframes. The CA Technologies-Torokina value proposition is to overcome this challenge within a single solution set, taking away the complexities by leveraging these complementary technologies."

Torokino is now part of CA's service assurance business.

Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
