Former head of Telstra International, joins MobileActive board

Drew Kelton - the former head of Telstra International until his recent appointment as president enterprise services at Indian mobile operator, Bharti AirteL - has been appointed a non-executive director of Australian mobile entertainment services company, MobileActive (ASX: MBA).

'Having a person of Mr Kelton's extensive corporate and executive experience in telecommunications, particularly in expanding operations and reaching out to new customers, will be invaluable in assisting MobileActive's growth strategy," said MobileActive chairman David Haines.

Last month, MobileActive completed the acquisition of 50.1 percent of racing information and tournament business 12Follow Pty Ltd and TopBetta Pty Ltd, and also announced it had entered in an exclusive technology licence and commercial partnership for Australia and New Zealand with Mobile Interactive Group (MIG), a major UK based independent mobile and digital communications business.

MobileActive develops, aggregates, markets and distributes a diverse range of mobile phone entertainment and services including content such as games, video, music, graphics, information and applications and services including loyalty and reward, user generated content, quiz and challenge, mobile marketing and social networking systems.

It  operates three divisions: Mobile Entertainment Retail MER - direct to consumer marketing and distribution; Mobile Embrace - B2B services; RingRing Studios - in-house mobile content production and global inbound and outbound licensing and distribution.
