Salesforce.com - the CRM company that's a poster child for the cloud applications industry - grew its net customer numbers in Australia and New Zealand to 2800, a year-on-year increase of 35%.
Other highlights from the company's global results as at January 31 include a 21% growth in annual revenue to $US354 million (with 22% growth in its fourth quarter), 72,500 net paying customers (up 31%), and earnings per share of $US0.16 (up 41%).
"As our full year results demonstrate, the movement to cloud computing is driving exceptional growth for salesforce.com," said chairman and CEO Marc Benioff.
"And the story is getting better: last week we launched a private beta program for Salesforce Chatter, allowing customers to experience first hand the next generation business collaboration model - a powerful alternative to legacy products such as Lotus Notes and Microsoft SharePoint - by delivering on the social models made popular by Facebook and Twitter," he added.
The company is predicting revenue growth of 16-17% during fiscal 2011, with earnings per share of $US0.58 to $US0.60.
