Mobile operators get fixed price spectrum renewal in $3b Government windfall

Microsoft declares dividend

Microsoft has declared a quarterly dividend of $US0.13 per share.

Microsoft's quarterly 13c dividend will be paid on June 10 to shareholders of record on May 20.

The stock goes ex-dividend on May 18.

Microsoft has been paying a dividend of 13c per quarter since the the first quarter of fiscal 2009.

The quarterly dividend was 11c during fiscal 2008, 10c during 2007, 9c during most of 2006, and 8c during 2005.

The closing price of Microsoft stock at the time of writing was $US28.80, which makes the yield approximately 1.8%. You can see why US investors generally do not buy shares for the dividend stream.
