Avaya acquires Agile Software

IT Industry - Listed Tech

US-based Avaya has acquired Agile Software NZ, the developer of Avaya's Contact Center Express system.

By acquiring Agile Software NZ, Avaya gains full ownership and control of the Contact Center Express system that it markets to midsize companies and divisions of larger enterprises.

"Our acquisition of Agile Software – and the evolution of Avaya Contact Center Express – reinforces our strong commitment to the mid-market contact center space," said Anthony Bartolo, general manager, integrated office and contact center communications at Avaya.

"Combining the expertise of Agile Software and Avaya will enable us to deliver more new and innovative solutions to our mid-market customers," he added.

Agile Software was previously a subsidiary of Agile, a New Zealand based systems integrator and Avaya distributor and reseller.

The acquisition price was not disclosed.

The announcement coincides with the release of Contact Center Express 4.0, which features advanced reporting (via voice, email and instant messaging), integration with Avaya Voice Portal for speech self-service applications, and additional automation such as allowing customers to request a callback rather than waiting on the line for an agent.

Contact Center Express is used by 3000 organisations in 84 countries.
