“The facility will accommodate growth over time and has been designed to reflect current best practices in cleanroom innovation. As new products are developed and new technology arises, the infrastructure of the built-space will support emerging solutions and products to efficiently service customer data recovery requests in a safe and secure environment,” Crymble said.
Kroll Ontrack will hire nearly 80 new specialists for its R&D centre in Katowice, Poland, by the end of this year. The centre was established in 2004 as part of the Kroll Ontrack Poland branch, which Crymble said also houses the largest data recovery and computer forensics lab in Central and Eastern Europe.
According to Crymble,“on average, 800 cases are resolved in the Kroll Ontrack Katowice data recovery and computer forensics lab each year,” and he said the investment in R&D would enable the company to better stay ahead of the data recovery, e-discovery and information management trends and to “create new technology solutions that not only address our clients’ needs, but anticipate them as well as the opportunities in the broader market.”
“In addition to developing new legal and data and storage technologies, the global R&D expansion initiative better ensures a fully optimised Kroll Ontrack service and project execution schedule. Katowice, in particular, is seven hours ahead of headquarters and several leading technology universities are in the area, so Kroll Ontrack is able to maximise its clock coverage with a facility there as well as recruit some of the best and brightest development talent.”
