iTWire, Australia's largest independent IT and Telecommunications news and information site, has won an award for best website at the 2011 Consensus IT Writers Awards at an event held in Sydney.
iTWire, founded in 2004 by Stan Beer and Stuart Corner, has a team of award winning writers and contributors and publishes stories across the full spectrum of the IT and telecoms industries, with a particular focus on the professional business to business sectors and reaches hundreds of thousands of industry aware readers each month.
At last year's Consensus event, co-founder and telecoms editor of iTWire, Stuart Corner, was the winner of the 2010 The "Kester" Lifetime Achievement Award for his contribution to the industry as a journalist and editor for more than 25 years.
The Kester Award is named after the late IT journalist Kester Cranswick, who died tragically of cancer in 1994 at the age of 37.
Another previous winner of The Kester is iTWire Enterprise editor Beverley Head, who won the award in 2004.
Other award winners at this year's event were Australian IT editor Stuart Kennedy, who was awarded The Kester for 2011, and Melbourne based freelance writer David Braue, who won the best investigative journalist award.
Think again. Most businesses only have PART of a DR plan - and this spells business disaster in the event of an IT disaster.
