Two more SaaS data centres for McAfee

IT Industry - Development

Security provider McAfee has established a data centre in Sydney to deliver cloud-based services to regional customers, and another in London.

McAfee has launched a data centre in Sydney to deliver its web protection and email protection, continuity and encryption services to customers in Australia and elsewhere in the Asia Pacific region.

"We are very excited to bring our globally proven SaaS technology to this market," said Richard Bowman, director, security-as-a-service. "Organisations are struggling to cope with the rise in new vulnerabilities due to Web 2.0/mobile technologies and also keen to reduce the cost burden of investing and maintaining their own security infrastructure. McAfee's SaaS solution allows them to take advantage of real-time cloud based security solutions to protect against threats without any on-premise requirements."

In related news, the company announced that it has also opened a data centre in London, its fifth new location in 12 months. A data centre in Hong Kong is expected to go online in the coming weeks, company officials said.

"McAfee has been leading the industry with SaaS security solutions for more than a decade now," said Scott Chasin, chief technology officer for McAfee's cloud and content business. "The rapid expansion of cloud data centres over the past year underscores our commitment to our customers and partners to deliver the highest-grade, global cloud security footprint."
