Westnet increases WA and NSW footprint

IT Industry - Development

Westnet and its parent iiNet have spent $5 million expanding their ADSL2+ network in Western Australia and New South Wales.

A $5 million investment will allow Westnet to provide an alternative to existing broadband services to more than 140,000 homes and businesses in WA and NSW.

"Westnet is proudly based in WA and we want to bring the benefits of superfast broadband to as many homes and businesses as we can," said CEO Michael Malone. "This year we will build more than double the capacity of what we delivered last year and offer plans at more competitive prices than ever before."

The first towns covered by the network upgrade are Geraldton, Kalgoorlie, Bluff Point and Katanning (WA), and Charlestown, Corrimal, Goonellabah, Goulburn, Grafton, Hamilton, Maitland, New Lambton, Nowra, Unanderra, Wallsend, and Warilla (NSW).

Westnet service will be available in these areas during the next six months.
