Apple Store Castle Towers opening this week

IT Industry - Development

Apple is preparing to open the ninth Apple Store in Australia and the fourth in NSW. Apple Store Castle Towers will open this Thursday.

The Apple Store Castle Towers is scheduled to open in the Sydney suburb of Castle Hill on Thursday August 19.

So far, almost all Apple Store openings in Australia have taken place on Saturday mornings, the exception being the Sydney CBD store which opened at 5pm on a Thursday. Apple Store Castle Towers is following in the footsteps of its big brother in George Street by opening at 5pm on Thursday August 19, 2010.

Opening on a weekday evening may discourage overnight queuing by those keen to be among the first through the doors of the latest Apple Store. Celebratory activities typically include free t-shirts for those near the front of the queue.

Apple traditionally doesn't officially admit to the existence of a store-to-be until the last minute, but one of the first indications of a new store is when the company mentions the location in the employment section of its web site. In the case of Castle Towers, this occurred back in February.
