Harbour MSP's new data centre will be located in Port Melbourne. The company will be the sole tenant of the new 1000 square metre facility.
The data centre is being built in conjunction with E3 Networks and Harbour MSP's parent company Frontline Systems.
"There is a distinct lack of high-quality, commercially available data centre space in Victoria, particularly those that have been designed to suit the needs of the mid-market sector, which we define as businesses with 100 to 500 seats," said Andrew Hardy, commercial director at Harbour MSP.
"We are very pleased to extend our footprint in Victoria to help customers who are looking for high-end data centre and IT managed services capabilities, but who have been limited by the lack of providers locally," he added.
Harbour MSP already has data centres in Sydney and Singapore. The company will offer a full range of services from Port Melbourne, including co-location, monitoring, management, security, networking, private cloud deployment and disaster recovery.
A feature of the new centre will be the availability of high density 30kW racks with in-row cooling. The total capacity of the building is around 500 racks.
