Pronto taps Avalara for tax

IT Industry - Development

A deal between Pronto Software and Avalara will deliver an integrated tax option for the ERP vendor's North American customers.

Australia-based mid-market ERP developer Pronto Software is partnering with US-based sales tax automation provider Avalara.

Pronto-Xi Tax Sales and Pronto-Xi Managed Returns will be released in the US and Canada in February 2010 and will work with AvaTax to handle  end-to-end sales tax calculation, compliance, and exemption certificate management.

As AvaTax is web based, there is no need for users to install updates whenever sales tax rates or rules change.

"Pronto Software's products are well known for being easy to work with at every level and we were looking for a robust yet simple-to-use sales and use tax engine that would fit seamlessly on our platform," said Jackman.

"Avalara's AvaTax service more than fulfilled these needs," he added.

Scott McFarlane, Avalara's president and CEO, said "This partnership is something of a natural in terms of doing right by ERP and other software clients throughout the globe."
