Other changes in 9.0.1 include fixes for an issues that could cause iTunes to become unresponsive or unexpectedly quit, as well as improvements to sorting albums with multiple discs and in syncing podcasts in playlists to an iPod or iPhone. Genius now automatically shows Genius Mixes.
iPod touch and iPhone application syncing has also been improved (there's no indication of what's been changed).
iTunes 9.0.1 also delivers a security fix to prevent maliciously crafted .pls (playlist) files from causing a buffer overflow leading to an unexpected quit or arbitrary code execution.
All three versions (Mac, 32-bit Windows and 64-bit Windows) of iTunes 9 have been updated.
In related news, Apple has released updates for Logic Pro (9.0.1), Logic Express (9.0.1), and MainStage (2.0.1; part of the Logic Studio). Stability and performance improvements along with fixes and enhancements is the order of the day.
Also new this week is another update for Snow Leopard's HP printer drivers.
The new releases can be obtained via Software Update (Apple Software Update on Windows) or the
Support Updates page.
