WLAN management tool for iPhones reaches Australia

IT Industry - Development

Meru Networks' E(z)RF OnTheGo wireless LAN management application for the iPhone is now available in Australia through Wavelink Communications.

The company claims E(z)RF OnTheGo is the first application of its kind for the iPhone.

E(z)RF OnTheGo is a browser-based application that presents data from E(z)RF Network Manager 2.0 on the iPhone or iPod touch.

"Critical information from the E(z)RF Network Manager 2.0 desktop console is delivered directly to IT managers on their iPhones, which means that even if a network manager is off site they can take meaningful steps to address critical issues either from a Wi-Fi hotspot or using the cellular network," said Wavelink director Jonathan Ordman.

The software presents customised views of management data (such as network load and client counts) and delivers notifications of high-priority events such as user connectivity problems.
