Google has made available Mac OS X and Linux versions of its Chrome browser but warned that they are by no means ready for prime time.
On the
Chromium Blog, Chrome product managers Mike Smith and Karen Grunberg posted links to the two new versions of the browser, which has been available for Windows since last fall.
But the links come with a stern warning that the new models are far from complete and aren't even ready to be called "beta."
"Whatever you do, please DON'T DOWNLOAD THEM!" reads the post. "Unless of course you are a developer or take great pleasure in incomplete, unpredictable, and potentially crashing software."
The new platforms don't yet support watching YouTube vides, let users change their default search engine, or even permit printing.
The full list of bugs and open issues is available
here for developers who feel like getting involved in the project.
