According to its entry in the App Store, iTraffic "is useful for all Australian cities from Sydney and Melbourne through regional centres."
But user reviews are mixed.
On one hand, you have positive reports such as this one from 'Technoist': "I'm finding this app simple and useful for driving around Sydney particularly when school zones are active."
On the other, 'AppUserQld' said "I drove 1400km's down the Queensland coast passing through 11 school zones that I know of. This app didn't indicate any of them!" And 'lazybuddha64' was even more blunt: "want my money back. worst app i have ever purchased by far."
Still, it's easy to hide behind the relative anonymity of an alias, and you can never be sure whether App Store reviews are genuine or not.
But it is clear that iTraffic's usefulness depends largely on the accuracy of the database underlying its operation.
One thing's for sure: you need to remain alert while driving. Relying on technology for warnings instead of watching for speed limit and camera warning signs risks demerit points and worse.
