Telstra has revealed the addition of almost one million new mobile services in the six months to December 2011, but Sensis revenues plummeted 24 percent in 12 months.
Kerio MailServer was already compatible with Red Hat Enterprise Linux, SusE and CentOS, but version 6.7 adds support for Debian 5 and Ubuntu 8.04 LTS.
Other changes include a new global address list (GAL) to save users from having to maintain their own address book as their colleagues join and leave the organisation. When users are added to or deleted from Active Directory (AD) or Open Directory (OD), the changes automatically flow into the GAL.
However, the relationship is one way, and adds, deletes and changes made directly to the Kerio GAL do not propagate to AD or OD. [Corrected 15/05/09]
Collaboration features in MailServer 6.7 include native support for Mac OS X's iCal (private calendars merely reveal free/busy information, not the details of any appointments) and synchronisation between the GAL and Address Book.
The MailServer anti-spam feature has also been bolstered with support for parallel processing on multi-CPU servers, along with reduced training time for the Bayesian filter.
"Migration was one of the most frustrating tasks for IT administrators," Dusan Vitek, Kerio's vice president of worldwide marketing, told iTWire. So MailServer 6.7 includes an IMAP migration tool that moves accounts, folders and messages from an old server.
David Colville, IT director at Kerio partner Key Options Technologies, concurred. His company has carried out several migrations for customers, including one involving the overnight transfer of around 200G of mail without the 120 or so users noticing. "The migration tools are great," he said.
Colville also praised MailServer's anti-spam performance, saying that it had reduced spam to "virtually zero" in a short period of time at one customer site.
MailServer 6.7 starts at $US499 for a 10-user licence. Adding integrated McAfee Anti-Virus puts an extra $US100 on the bill.
