Other changes to the user interface include moving the stop/reload button from the main part of the toolbar to the right end of the address bar, smart searches drawing from Google Suggest and recent searches, and full page zoom to magnify the page while retaining the layout.
One Windows-specific feature is the ability to turn off Safari 4's Mac-style font anti-aliasing in favour of normal Windows rendering. This was one of the main criticisms of Safari from the Windows camp.
There's also support for CSS Effects and CSS Canvas, offline HTML 5, and a set of developer tools.
Safari 4 beta has received a mixed reaction from users.
Several people have reported problems with Mac OS X's Mail application after installing the beta, but in at least some cases this seems to be due to an incompatibility between Mail add-ons and Safari 4.
The use of Safari add-ons also seems to be implicated in reports of instability of the beta browser.
