The increasingly crowded local IT security market saw a new entrant this week, with the launch of CLEARTEXT Pty Ltd, which specialises in secure email and instant messaging solutions.
CLEARTEXT announced its official launch at Australian IT security conference AusCERT, which runs from 22nd -26th May 2005 at the Royal Pines Resort on the Queensland Gold Coast.
The new Australian security player was founded by David Banes, the former technical director at email security provider, MessageLabs Asia Pacific, and Leigh Costin the former technical marketing manager of network security systems supplier Fortinet Asia Pacific. The co-founders are both considered veterans of the IT security industry, having held similar roles with Symantec Asia Pacific for a number of years.
CLEARTEXT will market and sell products, services and consulting in the internet messaging space, with a focus on providing secure messaging solutions for email and instant messaging to Australian SMBs.
