Optus is to scrap the 'Optus World' brand for its 146 retail outlets and which will be given a $30 million makeover and renamed 'yes' Shops.
"Retiring the Optus World brand comes after 13 years of trading in Australia and will see the new stores feature a contemporary yellow and white design with modern black and white animal murals painted on the walls to reflect Optus' highly successful animal and nature brand," said Warren Hardy, managing director Optus Consumer."
The new design was unveiled at The Optus 'yes' Shop at the Westfield shopping centre in Parramatta, NSW.
Hardy added: "The Optus 'yes' Shops are our premium retail distribution channel for consumers and small businesses. They sell and support Optus' full product suite, including 2G and 3G mobile phones and plans, landline telephone deals, Internet and broadband services, Optus TV packages and wireless products and accessories. "The shops also include digital media solutions and a greater ability to demonstrate Optus products and services in real-time."
Shop employees will also have new uniforms, to be unveiled later this year. Optus says it has to date invested over $50 million in its retail chain. This has been in operation for 13 years so the spending rate seems set to increase significantly Optus says it expects to spend a further $30 million over the next three years rolling out the new look to its 146 retail stores.
To design and fit out the shops Optus is using Public Designers – designers; Ingram's – shopfitters; Proton Lighting – lighting; and McCredie Richmond – quantity surveyors.
