Internode calls on Ericsson for DSLAMs

IT Industry - Deals

Award-winning ISP Internode has chosen Ericsson to supply an additional 30,000 DSLAM ports to continue its ADSL2+ rollout to metropolitan and regional areas.

Internode managing director Simon Hackett said "Ericsson’s EDA DSL equipment has proved an excellent fit due to its compact size, reliability, and superb performance," and that low running costs were necessary to service areas of low population density.

The value of the contract was not revealed.

Earlier this week, Ericsson announced that it is about to reach two technical milestones on Telstra's Next G network: the first 20km cell on a commercial mobile broadband network, and maximum downlink speeds of 14.4Mbps.
