Fujitsu has secured a $10 million contract with Western Australia’s Department for Child Protection to support its mission-critical PeopleSoft CRM system.

Fujitsu, which has worked with the WA government department for over 10 years on a number of projects including development and support of its Microsoft applications, was awarded the new five-year contract after a competitive tender process.

Cheryl Barnett, Executive Director Metropolitan Services, Department for Child Protection, in Western Australia, said the department was the only organisation of its size using the PeopleSoft CRM system in Western Australia, and a key consideration in awarding the contract was the vendor’s ability to resource large scale, application-specific support in Western Australia.

“We deliver some of the most critical statutory services for the community in Western Australia. Our staff require a high level of skill, commitment and resilience. Their effectiveness is underpinned by critical technologies. Working with Fujitsu, we will have the support of their combined local and national skills base to ensure that our core systems continue to support the needs of our distributed and remote workforce.”

Fujitsu’s Executive General Manager, Western Australia, Robert Lislois, said the new contract was very significant for the company’s Western Australia operation. “We are delighted to build on our successful long-term relationship with the Department with a contract of this size and duration.”
