Unified communications provider Interactive Intelligence has acquired Bay Bridge Decision Technologies, a supplier of contact centre forecasting, capacity planning and strategic analysis technology.

The all-cash transaction was for an undisclosed amount.

Bay Bridge Decision Technologies (BBDT) developed software to help contact centres optimise arrange for the right number of agents to be available at the right time and place.

"This acquisition enables us to bridge the gap between our basic workforce management features, and the advanced forecasting and planning capabilities in the Bay Bridge products, so we can now offer a true strategic planning solution for mid-size and large contact centres," said Interactive Intelligence founder and CEO, Donald Brown.

"As the leading vendor in its industry, supplying the kind of advanced functionality required by the world's top brands, Bay Bridge makes for an ideal acquisition that will help our customers further streamline their technology sourcing and implementations, while giving them even greater return-on-investment."

The BBDT CenterBridge family of products will remain on the market, but the forecasting technology will be added to Interactive Intelligence's Interaction Optimizer.
