Systems integration and technology consultancy, SMS Management & Technology has been contracted by Medibank to support its recent contract win with the Australian Defence Force to manage and coordinate healthcare services for all serving ADF personnel nationally, from point of injury or illness through to recovery.

Medibank CEO, George Savvides, said SMS (ASX:SMX), had been engaged to provide business critical ‘transition in’ services to Medibank, including Project Management Office (PMO), program management, change management, communication and business analysis.

Savvides said the new agreement with the ADF would simplify and streamline the healthcare process for all ADF personnel nationally and “further enhance Medibank’s position as a provider of health insurance, services and solutions.”

“Medibank is delighted to have engaged SMS on this important part of the ADF contract. SMS has brought to Medibank a significant level of maturity when it comes to the critical services required during the transition phase of this contract,” Savvides said.

SMS CEO, Tom Stianos, said the company had been working with Medibank for many years on a range of business and technology projects. “I am pleased at how well our team has responded as ‘transition in’ partners during what will no doubt be a critical phase of the contract.”
