Customer communications solutions vendor, Thunderhead, has been selected by Australian general insurance group, Guild Insurance to provide its NOW platform to streamline the creation and delivery of customer communications across the Guild client portfolio.
Guild Insurance chief information officer, Karen Symes, said the company's early evaluation of the Thunderhead system indicates 'significant savings in time, labour and costs and an expected improvement in document quality for customers.'
Symes said Guild Insurance expected to see real benefits shortly after implementation. Prior to using Thunderhead NOW, Guild Insurance relied on a number of disparate legacy systems to maintain customer communications across its different brands.
'Important communications, including complex insurance policies, needed to be tailored heavily through a time-intensive manual process before they were ready to be sent to customers,' Symes said.
According to Symes, Thunderhead NOW will allow Guild Insurance to centralise corporate identities and customer information to simplify the process of creating documents and policies while improving the usability of documents for its customers.
Nick Smith, Thunderhead Vice President, Asia-Pacific, said that Guild Insurance had chosen Thunderhead NOW because of its user-led system that enables Guild Insurance's business users to build and run the system without taxing the resources of their IT department.
'The company also chose Thunderhead NOW due to its seamless integration with their new claims solution, Guidewire, and their legacy policy system, Insure90.'
Smith said that, initially, Thunderhead NOW will sit beside Guidewire and Insure90 within Guild Insurance's IT system, and he said Thunderhead NOW's scalability and flexibility means it is capable of growing with Guild Insurance and ensures that IP relevant to customers and communication generation is not lost to legacy systems.
According to Smith, in selecting Thunderhead NOW, Guild Insurance will realise its expected return in less than one year.
