Adobe has acquired EchoSign, an electronic signature provider.

Adobe has acquired electronic signature service provider EchoSign for an undisclosed sum.

EchoSign's service automates the process from requesting a signature through tracking to storing the signed document. Adobe plans to integrate EchoSign with its existing SendNow, FormsCentral and CreatePDF services.

"Adobe's document solutions help organisations turn inefficient, paper-based workflows into streamlined electronic ones," said Kevin Lynch, vice president and general manager of Acrobat solutions, digital enterprise solutions, Adobe.

"By adding electronic signature capabilities to Adobe's document exchange services platform, we will be addressing the need to provide better customer experiences by significantly reducing the time, cost and complexity associated with having a document signed."

EchoSign's electronic signature service is already integrated with Salesforce.com, NetSuite and other services.

The founders and all full-time employees of EchoSign will join Adobe.
