Active Network going the distance with alliance

Cloud applications vendor, Active Network, has been selected as the preferred registration management software and hosted technology provider by Australia's triathlon national sports body, Triathlon Australia.

Under the deal, Active Network has developed and hosts the new Triathlon Australia website that launched earlier this month, and also manages individual and affiliated club memberships.

Active Network CEO, Dave Alberga said the strategic alliance marks a key milestone as the company expands its global presence.

'Australia represents one of the leading nations in the sport of triathlon. This partnership allows Triathlon Australia to expand its service delivery offerings to more than 10,000 members and over 160,000 event participants, and continue to grow the footprint of the endurance sport market.'

Alberga said the new Triathlon Australia website includes enhanced interactive functionalities such as a detailed event calendar and an Active.com Trainer program tool.

'It also allows members and event participants to schedule and register for activities and events, pay fees and view up-to-date event information online. With the Active Network fully-hosted solution, Triathlon Australia and its affiliate associations and clubs can manage all their event and membership operations in-house on a single platform without incurring steep equipment and IT costs.'

Triathlon Australia president, Peter Hedge said that working together with Active Networks the organisation could have a 'significant impact on growing the sport of triathlon in Australia and driving more value for our members and affiliated clubs.'

According to Alberga, Triathlon Australia joins a number of sports national governing bodies which already partner with Active Network in Asia-Pacific, including Triathlon New Zealand and Tennis Australia as well as renowned events such as Noosa Triathlon Multi Sport Festival and Ironman Australia.
