Lawson Software acquisition completed

IT Industry - Deals

Enterprise software developer Infor and a private equity firm have completed their acquisition of Lawson Software.

The $US11.25 per share acquisition of Lawson Software by GGC Software Holdings (an affiliate of Golden Gate Capital and Infor) has been completed.

The plan is to integrate Lawson and Infor products using the latter's ION connectivity and data sharing suite. The first fruits of this project should arrive later this year, and involve Lawson S3 and Infor FMS SunSystems Enterprise, Lawson S3 and Infor EAM, and Lawson Human Capital Management and Infor Workforce Management.

"These first product examples reflect the potential of this partnership and the fast pace of our development efforts," said Infor CEO Charles Phillips. "We will continue our work to deliver deeper functionality and industry-specific applications, particularly in key industries such as manufacturing, healthcare, distribution, public sector and hospitality."

There is already a degree of overlap between the two businesses' customer bases, with 48% of Lawson's biggest customers using at least one Infor product. For example, a Lawson spokesperson noted the possibility of a large organisation running Lawson S3 at its headquarters and larger divisions, and Infor FMS SunSystems Enterprise at smaller locations.
