KAZ, Telstra’s ICT and IP services subsidiary, has won a $20 million ICT contract with the Royal Australian Navy’s Fleet Information Systems Support organisation (FISSO).
The 5 year contract will provide FISSO with IT management, support and
development services for the Fleet Information Environment’s
‘restricted high network’.
FISSO provides a range of ICT services for all Fleet Information
Environment computing assets such as ‘restricted high network’ which is
capable of providing instantaneous chat and email, information (whether
a ship is cruising between ports or operating within a war zone) world
wide, 24-hours, 7 days a week between the ship Maritime headquarters in
Sydney and also enables sailors who are deployed overseas for months on
end, to stay in touch with family and friends back home.
KAZ’s relationship with FISSO extends back to April 2000.

premium service in one of the most demanding network environments in
the world, and will take the already close KAZ Navy relationship to a
new level.
