Quest acquires Symlabs

IT Industry - Deals

IT management software specialist Quest Software has acquired Symlabs, a provider of virtual directory and identity management systems.

Symlabs technology will be rolled into the Quest One identity and access management (IAM) system, simplifying the consolidation of distributed environments and extending the reach of single sign-on.

"Symlabs has a strong history of eliminating complex integration problems quickly, and its virtual directory technology makes it a great fit for Quest One and our approach to simplifying IAM for IT and the business," said Jackson Shaw, senior director of product management at Quest.

"This investment, as well as the recent patents, availability of Quest One Identity Manager and continued investment in multifactor authentication, continues to drive the new wave of IAM for our current and future customers."

The terms of the acquisition were not disclosed.
