Technology provider CSC has won a $6.3 million contract to roll out a patient administration system for the Western Australia Department of Health.

The Western Australia Department of Health has selected iSoft's Patient Administration System (PAS) for use across the department, and has signed a $6.3 million contract with CSC to deploy the software and provide related services at two hospital campuses.

The department's intention is to extend the PAS to its entire operations so  that up to date information is available to clinical and administrative staff across the state's health system.

"CSC has implemented iSoft PAS products into several NHS hospitals and Primary Care Trusts across the UK and Europe," said Lisa Pettigrew, national director of health services at CSC Australia. "With substantial clinical and administrative health system deployment experience, CSC reduces implementation risks for our clients by using a standard and repeatable PAS deployment process that embodies best practice."

In addition to performing systems integration work on the PAS software, CSC will also provide program and quality management services, PAS testing and training, technical readiness, patient index analysis, and development of a learning management system.
