CA Technologies has become the latest customer of Fujitsu Australia's infrastructure as a service (IaaS) offering. CA will use it as the underlying platform for the CA Clarity PPM On Demand (project and portfolio management) suite.
CA has chosen to host the suite locally in order match the service available in the US from the locally hosted offering. Brenton Smith, vice president and area manager, CA Technologies, Australia & New Zealand, said, "Having realised successes globally for our CA Clarity PPM On Demand product, we felt it was important to offer our customers the same, local hosting options through a trusted partner. Fujitsu has filled this role and I'm confident that our local customer-base will benefit directly from this move."
According to Fujitsu," The Fujitsu IaaS offering will fully support CA Technologies' business model for its CA Clarity PPM On Demand unit in that it will expand and contract with the client base, and costs will track directly in line with revenue. Importantly, the new IaaS will also support the trialling of software and systems offered by CA Technologies to its prospective clients.
CA Technologies will take up Fujitsu's IaaS as an 'out of the box' configuration with inbuilt data and system replication across two of Fujitsu's Tier III data centres. The infrastructure platform includes the servers, storage, Internet provision, back up and management of the infrastructure, along with data replication and retrieval. High volume bandwidth and two Internet providers serve each data centre.
Fujitsu and CA Technologies have a long established relationship locally and globally. Fujitsu is a committed user of the CA Clarity PPM suite, which underpins its managed service operations, including its cloud offerings.
