Cameron McNaught, group executive director, solutions at Fujitsu Australia and New Zealand, told iTWire that Frucor "is the first to move all SAP and associated services into the Fujitsu cloud for both production and non production (eg testing) purposes."

Frucor has been a SAP customer for 10 years.

The switch to the cloud, scheduled for April 2011, will provide the company with more flexibility and a 'pay by use' charging model.

"Ours is a seasonal business with a summer peak for our products. Frucor will now have an IT model which is able to respond to our business activities and market conditions as and when required. Plus we've had solid growth in recent years. Accurate IT capacity planning under a traditional, three-years-in-advance purchasing model is impossible," said Paul Miller, Frucor's group IS manager for Australia and New Zealand.
