Dell is to sell Aruba Networks WiFi products worldwide under the Dell brand as part of Dell's PowerConnect networking portfolio under a multi-year agreement announced today.
According to Dell, "The new PowerConnect W-Series is designed to help customers more efficiently deploy and manage wireless networking solutions, and expands Dell's existing PowerConnect portfolio to deliver networking capabilities from the core to the edge."
Dell's claims that the Aruba products "will help customers dynamically scale their networks by delivering enterprise-class connectivity and security to mobile workers. Through an intuitive, centralised management console, IT professionals will be able to manage thousands of wireless access points'¦The PowerConnect W-Series is designed to be easy to deploy and seamlessly prioritise bandwidth based on application demands in a dynamic, rapidly-changing network."
Dell says that W-Series Controllers will enable easy integration of WiFi access points into an organisation's existing network, to securely and efficiently extend network resources to a mobile workforce.
"Once deployed, automated access point set-up and configuration will help reduce deployment time, while centralised management will allow administrators to more quickly realise the benefits of a fully-integrated and managed wireless solution."
The Dell PowerConnect W-Series of Aruba's wireless networking products are expected to be available in the United States, Canada, Denmark, France, Germany, Greece, Ireland, Italy, Netherlands, Norway, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, and the United Kingdom this quarter, followed other countries in the near future. They will be available through Dell and its PartnerDirect channel partners.
