Australia’s embattled construction sector could benefit from cloud based information systems that can be switched on and off in lockstep with individual projects – with the exception of those organisations based in remote areas like the Kimberleys.

Pronto beats ERP competition to contract win

IT Industry - Deals

Australian ERP solutions developer, Pronto Software says it has beaten a swag of ERP vendors to ink a deal with national tool and equipment supplier Kincrome, that it claims will underpin growth and drive integration throughout Kincrome's operations.

Kincrome CFO, Martin Richards, said today that after reviewing a comprehensive vendor list including SAP, Microsoft Dynamics AX, IBS and Lawson, the business selected PRONTO-Xi for 'best overall capability and local support.

'Our incumbent system, Infor ERP commerce@work, was no longer being developed, so we were looking for a solution with a clear upgrade path and ongoing support to evolve with our business. PRONTO-Xi was also very competitively priced, however it was more about out-of-the-box functionality and integration which proved the best fit for our business.'

Richards said Kincrome, with 130 staff nationwide and warehouses in Melbourne, Brisbane and Perth,  would rollout a range of PRONTO-Xi tools including financials, distribution, shopfloor manufacturing, manufacturing planning, CRM, warehouse management, avenue and analytics.

'We were attracted to Pronto as we knew it was an Australian company and we would be dealing with the people actually developing the product, and not a reseller or an overseas consultant. We wanted a fully integrated system, not bolt on third party software. From this perspective Pronto is a quality company that's very focused on what it does.'

Richards said a key benefit expected from PRONTO-Xi is an improved level of customer service through PRONTO -Xi's CRM tool. 'CRM was really important as we have a direct sales force, and we needed a solution that would allow our salespeople remote, seamless access to product and customer information.

According to Richards, thorough, in-depth knowledge of the software also contributed to Kincrome's decision to select PRONTO-Xi. 'The sales team demonstrated a comprehensive knowledge of the solution that you would only gain from years of implementing these types of rollouts in businesses with similar warehousing and distribution requirements.'

Pronto Software managing director David Jackman claimed that 'unlike many global providers, we make, sell and support our own software which our customers value and gives us a competitive edge against other ERP players.'
