CN wins new contracts, records strong half year

IT Industry - Deals

Australian IT services company, the CN Group, has capped off a strong first half of 2010 with two new SAP integration project wins with the New South Wales Department of Education and Training and OneSteel.

Group CEO of CN, Brian Pereira, said today 'in looking back at the last six months I am amazed but not surprised at what the team has achieved. The IT services industry in Australia is incredibly competitive and for us to win DET and OneSteel proves that having the best people and a supportive business culture will lead to success.'

'The success is also attributed to a clear business plan for the year that has been communicated to all of the staff.  The plan has helped us focus on the parts of the business that will deliver the best returns and help foster a high performance environment. We have also accounted for our people because the flip side of growth is the need to support staff with the right culture, systems and processes to make their job easier and enjoyable.'

According to Pereira, the wins saw the group double its staff numbers from 30 to 60, 'with further expansion expected in the second half of the year as new offices are established in Newcastle and Brisbane. 2011 expansion plans may include a Victorian presence.'

Pereira said that the group's consulting division, Consulting Networks, was also awarded its SAP hosting certification in Australia and became the first local SAP Systems integration partner to receive the official accreditation.  He said the company will now be able to offer hosting services for all SMEs, including SAPs enterprise, SAP All-in-one and SAP Business One customers.

SAP has appointed CN as its lead integrator for the HR Payroll implementation at the NSW Department of Education and Training. CN will lead three other SAP system integrators on the transformation project, with the first part to be delivered the rollout of SAP HR/Payroll for NSW TAFE. CN is also providing a hosting service for the DET's non productive and development systems.

And, the company's consulting division, with IBM, was named the 2009 Best Partner Award for New South Wales at the annual IBM Partner Awards ceremony.

Pereira said OneSteel selected CN as its advisor and partner in its SAP transformation program 'which will see the steelmaker increase its competitive stance in the global steel and mill products market.'

According to Pereira, 'the DET and OneSteel wins confirm that the end-to-end relationship with SAP, powered by CN can offer customers options to optimize their SAP investments. Our size and experience means we can quickly turn around flexible SAP packages for any size organization. Now with the SAP hosting certification, we can present our 300 SME customers with the option of fully hosted enterprise-grade SAP benefits at SME prices.'
