Enterprise software group, TechnologyOne has strengthened its position in the UK market in recent weeks with the establishment of a northern office, new customer wins and two senior appointments.
The Australian-headquartered, ASX-listed company, set up its northern UK office this month after winning major customers in Scotland and northern England. The company also has offices in New Zealand and Asia.
The UK contract wins include Carnegie College, which is implementing combinations of TechnologyOne financials, supply chain, business intelligence and enterprise budgeting software. TechnologyOne reports it has already won UK customers in its key vertical markets of financial services, health, education and local government, and the company's executive chairman, Adrian Di Marco says the expansion and strategic appointments will see the company further cement its foothold in these markets.
The new Cheshire-based office will be managed by the new regional manager for UK northern region, Mark Harvey and will service northern England, Scotland, and Wales, and neighbouring Ireland. Anthony von Bergen will manage TechnologyOne's London-based Southern office.
Di Marco said Mark Harvey has more than 22 years experience in software for the public sector and education sectors in sales, project management and consultancy roles.
Harvey said TechnologyOne's solutions and philosophy positioned it as a future leader and he maintained that the company's software is 'far ahead of the competition in terms of design and technology, offering a wider range of functionality and a better user experience than anything else on the market in its range.
Di Marco said that new regional manager, UK southern region, Anthony von Bergen has more than 15 years experience in the business software industry, with high profile management positions including senior regional sales director for Epicor, responsible for operations throughout the Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) region.
According to von Bergen, the business software market is at a turning point and, he claimed, 'in our industry, customers are fed up with the same old technology and the same old messages - TechnologyOne is offering new generation software and a different approach.'
Adrian Di Marco said the two appointments marked the next stage of the company's evolution in the UK.
'Major spending cuts in the UK, coupled with the accelerated retirement of the baby boomer generation means many workplaces are looking to fully automate a lot of previously manual processes. The only way of achieving this is through use of modern, fully integrated, easy to use applications'
'This new high calibre leadership illustrates our strength and our seriousness in providing the UK with excellent software. The development of two distinct regions will ensure we can enhance the service we provide to our customers and drive our continued growth in the region.'
Di Marco said the regional split in the UK meets TechnologyOne's 'commitment to providing customer-facing senior managers in key regional areas,' and follows the appointment of Stuart Davey to head up the company's regional office in Darwin, to service its 12 Northern Territory customers.
