The New Zealand office of enterprise business software and services supplier SSA Global, has won a multi-million dollar contract to supply its financial management solution to the Fiji Government.
The deal will see the SSA solution running on Windows NT implemented
across 28 ministries - comprising 52 departments - throughout the Fiji
Government within two-to-three years. SSA Global’s New Zealand office
and Fiji Government’s management are currently involved in the
implementation, while local support is being provided by Suva-based
development company, Software Factory Ltd.
The rollout has commenced with four proof-of-concept Ministries, after
which there will be three separate blocks of deployments consisting of
eight Ministries in each deployment phase.
As part of its preferred supplier agreement, SSA Global has committed
to training a team of highly skilled IT resources within the Fiji
Government, to support functional and technical financial management
requirements into the future.
Mr Aisake Taito, deputy secretary finance, Government of Fiji said, “We
had a requirement for an integrated Financial Management Solution that
would allow us to have timely, consistent & reliable information
for decision making. SSA FM will allow us to achieve that objective. We
now have access to flexible industry standard reporting tools and at
the completion of the implementation, we will be able to use automated
workflow to control and standardise our processes - resulting in
enhanced visibility throughout our organisation.
“SSA Global’s customer-centric approach to provide a self sufficient
environment that we can sustain locally was another major factor in our
decision.”
Graeme Riley, SSA Global’s managing director (Pacific), said, “SSA
Global is committed to supporting customers not only in their software
decisions, but in developing the in-house expertise to manage their
businesses more effectively.”
Semi Tukana, managing director of Software Factory, said, “I believe
that, apart from the world-class financial management software offered,
SSA Global’s professional conduct coupled with a workable solution, a
realistic timeframe, and a competitive price bid presented the Fiji
Government with a combination that was hard to beat.”
