Microsoft outsources IT services to Infosys

Outsourcing giant Infosys has been awarded a worldwide contract to manage Microsoft's internal IT services.

Microsoft has entered into a three-year agreement with Infosys for the management of its internal IT services.

The contract covers IT help desk, desk-side services, and infrastructure and application support from multiple global centres. Infosys will manage Microsoft's internal IT services for applications, devices, and databases in 450 locations in 104 countries.

Service desk and desk-side services will be delivered in partnership with Unisys.

Infosys will also establish a dedicated service excellence office to help Microsoft implement ISO 20000 and ITSM processes.

"Infosys demonstrated that it understood our transformational goals by introducing a flexible and innovative end-to-end approach to manage our support infrastructure," said Jim DuBois, Microsoft's general manager of service management.
