The Big Mac sets up IT deal with eCorner

IT Industry - Deals

Macquarie Telecom division, Macquarie Hosting, has signed a three-year deal with secure ecommerce and ebusiness solutions vendor, eCorner, to manage the company’s entire IT infrastructure and ensure PCI compliant online transactions for its customers.

eCorner CEO, John Debrincat, said today the company chose to partner with Macquarie Telecom because of its PCI compliant data centre hosting services. “Currently Macquarie Telecom is the only hosting services provider in Australia to achieve this independent third party certification. In addition to PCI, Macquarie Telecom offers its customers the highest-levels of local security certifications and accreditations (ISO and ASIO T4), making its data centre facilities amongst the most secure in Australia.”

According to Debrincat, the new agreement has allowed eCorner to upgrade its servers to faster and more energy efficient models, as well as update its network infrastructure such as switches and routers. Debrincat said the new hardware has also been re-located into ‘smart racks’ which can proactively manage air temperature and cooling requirements, as well as monitor and help to reduce power consumption.

“At the same time eCorner has future-proofed its dedicated server infrastructure for growth, enabling it to meet ever-increasing capacity demands from new and existing clients. eCorner has witnessed over 240% increase in traffic and data utilisation across its client base over the past year, as well as experiencing 100% growth in its own business requirements. The new hosting infrastructure will allow eCorner to meet this exponential growth and deliver access to data in an unlimited capacity.”

Debrincat also said “it’s also important to be able to host our customers’ transactions locally, in an Australian data centre; this helps to differentiate our offerings in the marketplace. Macquarie Telecom’s strategy of offering local server hosting facilities is very much aligned with our own business strategy, and that’s why it’s a great business partnership which has lasted for over six years and beyond.”

Aidan Tudehope, managing director, hosting for Macquarie Telecom, said, “eCorner’s business requirements play right into Macquarie Telecom’s managed hosting strengths, which are the highest possible levels of security and the ability to manage unpredictable levels of transaction intensive traffic. It’s great to see customers like eCorner going from strength to strength and really utilising our capabilities to underpin rapid growth.”
