AllTalk is already used by more than 3500 medical practices in Australia. Major MediPath customers include Royal Prince Alfred hospital (Sydney), St Vincent's hospital (Sydney and Melbourne), North Coast Area Health Service, and St John of God Pathology. It is also in use in the UK.

According to the company, no MediPath site has ever switched to a different product unless taken over by a larger corporation.

"This solution was purpose built by LRS Health for Australian pathology labs and the LRS Health specialists will work very closely with Southern Health to highly customise the solution to their specific environment. As we are a local company we are also very well positioned to provide constant service and 24 hour support," said Edgley.

MediPath includes administration and billing engines that interface with systems operated by Medicare and the Department of Veterans' Affairs, among others.

The system to be installed at Southern Health will also link to patient administration, clinical, and accident and emergency systems, as well as state and national e-health projects.
