Deutsche Post DHL expects BT to deliver

IT Industry - Deals

BT will provide Deutsche Post DHL with managed communications services covering the company's 1000 sites in Asia Pacific.

A deal worth at least $A16 million will see BT take on the management of Deutsche Post DHL's communications network in the Asia Pacific region, including Australia.

The result will be a fully managed, optimised network with central help desk, third party vendor management, managed security services, fixed voice and data services, and end to end service level agreements across multiple domestic networks and BT MPLS backbone interconnections.

"BT presented us with a strong business case, showing they understood our requirements and pointing effectively to what touch points in our network would benefit from this services agreement," said Ralf Weissbeck, managing director of IT services at Deutsche Post DHL.

"A key element of our requirements was for service management transparency to provide us with a more accurate operational data and commercial billing infrastructure," he added.
