Software and services provider, Mincom, has won a three-year deal to provide IT outsourcing services to CountryLink, part of the New South Wales government-owned Rail Corporation.
Under the agreement, Mincom Managed Services will help CountryLink to consolidate its desktop and network support for online booking and reservations services and to mitigate risk. Mincom Managed Services will also host CountryLink's OneRail reservation and ticketing system via its data centre in Brisbane.
CountryLink's rail and coach network covers 365 destinations in New South Wales, Australian Capital Territory, Queensland and Victoria. CountryLink services carry more than 1.8 million passengers every year.
Ray Storace, executive vice president global Mincom Managed Services, said, "Mincom is pleased to be contributing to CountryLink's mission of offering its customers a more convenient and flexible service through the use of enhanced sales and distribution channels, such as online booking and payment options. We'll be working closely with CountryLink's other technology partners, such as OneRail, to achieve this.
"By centralising its IT infrastructure support CountryLink will be able to operate more efficiently and ensure higher availability of its business critical applications, such as online bookings and reservations."
